Dr. Janak H. Bhavsar was born in India and grew up in Northern New Jersey. He graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry. He attended medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey- New Jersey Medical School. He then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. In 2005, Dr. Bhavsar completed fellowship training in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at the Miriam Hospital/ Brown University in Providence, RI.
Dr. Bhavsar joined Daytona Heart Group in August 2012. He is on staff at Florida Hospital Deland and Florida Hospital- Fish Memorial. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography. Dr. Bhavsar is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.
He performs cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, atherectomy, intravascular ultrasound and is proficient in performing these procedures via the radial approach. In addition, Dr. Bhavsar also performs a variety of peripheral interventional procedures and is the Endovascular director at Florida Hospital Deland. He is interested in the diagnosis and treatment of arterial and venous disease.
Dr. Bhavsar currently resides in Deland with his wife and twin children. He is fluent in Gujarati and has conversational knowledge of Spanish and Hindi. His interests include sports, traveling and cultural activities.
